UKAEA Publication Scheme
The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, or UKAEA, is a non-departmental public body. The organisation’s role is to undertake the United Kingdom’s contribution to the fusion energy research programme and, through its subsidiaries, to undertake nuclear decommissioning and restoration of nuclear facilities and sites in the UK and overseas.
The UKAEA Publication Scheme, drawn up under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act (2000) aims to set out:
- The classes of information published by, or intended to be published by, the UKAEA as a matter of course.
- How the information is, or is intended to be, published.
- Whether the material is, or is intended to be, made available to the public free of charge or on payment
What is a publication scheme?
A publication scheme is a document which describes the information UKAEA publishes, or intends to publish. In this context, publish means to make information available, routinely. These descriptions are called classes of information. The scheme is not a list of actual publications, because this will change as new material is published or existing material revisited. It is, however, UKAEA’s commitment to make available the information described.
Format
Paper copies will be made available on request.
Information NOT made available
In accordance with provisions under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, it must be noted that UKAEA may consider withholding information in circumstances where it is subject to exemptions under the Act.
Material is normally available for up to 5 years from the date it is posted on the website or otherwise published.
