Reporting our performance
At UKAEA, we record a series of indicators to measure our company safety, health and environmental performance. By closely monitoring these indicators, we identify areas for improvement and take action where it is needed.
- The results for the most important indicators are published in quarterly reports. We also make annual performance information available in our Report and Accounts and on this web site.
- The Safety Performance Measure and Environmental Performance Measure form two of our four top-level company performance measures, reflecting the high priority we place on safety and environmental management.
- We are also beginning to report environmental performance data using the Environment Agency's newly-introduced Nuclear Sector Plan (NSP). The NSP is one of a number of such plans, allowing comparison of the environmental performances of different industrial sectors. We will be publishing the data on this web site shortly.
- Performance is also reported to the UKAEA Board Assurance Committee, which meets quarterly. The Committee is responsible for advising the Board that the organisation's values of safety, health, environment, security and quality are being well managed by the Executive. The Committee is chaired by a Non-Executive Director and includes the Chief Executive, other Directors, and two independent members.
